Description
Maine Governor Israel Washburn Jr. declared April 10, 1862 as a day of remembrance for fallen Civil War soldiers from Maine.
Israel Washburn (1813-1883) was the oldest son of Israel and Martha Benjamin Washburn of Livermore. He served as the 29th governor of Maine from 1861-1863.
