Description
A manuscript map titled Portland with a view of the different streets features the city streets and designations, as well as buildings, wharves and rope walks. Lemuel Moody (1767-1846) created this map in 1826, which was never formally printed.
Lemuel Moody, a mariner, shipmaster and businessman, is remembered for his contribution to the 1825 sailing chart of Portland's harbor and islands, his thermometric records of Portland, and his contribution toward the building of the Portland Observatory in 1807-1809.
