Description
The Rumford Falls Light and Power Company shop was located on lower Weld Street in the 1920s. Citizens applied for service and payed electric bills there. Previously, the building was the office of attorney Isaac Randall, and later, in the 1970s, Art Carrier operated a barber shop in the building.
The small building to the left was the Mel Bishop Jewelry Shop, later run by Cleon Corrow; Millie Russell ran a hat shop there at one time.
Both properties were annexed by neighboring Towle's Hardware and Lumber Co. to expand their building and materials lumber yard. The two buildings no longer exist.
