Description
A group of Harvard students who were members of the Champlain Society left their camp on the shores of Northeast Harbor for a sailing voyage aboard the yacht, Sunshine in 1881. The Champlain Society camped, explored, studied and socialized on Mount Desert Island during the 1880's.
Between August 23, 1881 and September 4, 1881, the students sailed in and around the harbors and islands of Penobscot Bay, recording their findings and activities.
