Description

Meyer Davis, Jr., was the eldest son of internationally renowned orchestra leader Meyer Davis and Hilda Emery Davis, a musician and composer in her own right. Hilda was born and raised in Maine and met Meyer when he was performing with his orchestra in Bar Harbor. While the family spent time in New York City, Philadelphia, and other cities, they maintained homes in the areas of Bar Harbor and Sorrento.

Meyer Davis, Jr., was lost with his shipmates when the U.S.S. Buck went down off the Isle of Capri on October 9, 1943.
