Description
This photograph came from the photo album of Bessie Greenblatt, a teacher at the North End School (1929-1930). Bessie boarded with Annie Robinson Colby, widow of Rial Colby, while she lived on the island.
The property was a working farm, and Annie, like many on the island, took in boarders. When Annie died, her daughter Rena and later, Rena's son, Russell Mosier inherited the property.
The porch and south end of the house were later removed, and the barn was torn down. When the Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was built in Wiscasset, beginning in 1968, until the structure was substantially demolished in 2004, this property had a direct view of the power plant across Montsweag Bay.
