Description
George Gilbert Benner was a member of the National Greenback party. A native of South Waldoboro, he went to sea at age 12, and gradually worked his way up to the command of a vessel. He was a Democrat before becoming a National Greenback.
He was a member of the 1880 Maine State Legislature.
