Description
Saco and Pettee Machine Shops were located on the Saco River. The Saco Water Power Company Drafting Room, built in 1860, was on the far left, and capped off Machine Shop #1, built 1842. Next to the Drafting Room was the newly-built Saco and Pettee Drafting Room (1900). The roof was later renovated and the building enlarged.
The rooflines in the background belonged to both the Saco and Pettee Shops and the Pepperell and Laconia Mills.
