Description
Elihu Washburne (1816-1887) grew up on a small farm now a part of the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center. Elihu Washburn was one of eleven children from Martha and Israel Washburn of Livermore. He became a lawyer, U.S. Congressman, and Minister to France. He served in Paris during the time of the Franco-Prussian War.
