Description
George E. Weeks of Augusta was Speaker of the Maine State House of Representatives in 1880. He served in the Legislature in 1873, 1878 and 1879.
A Republican, Weeks was born in Jeffereson, attended Lincoln Academy in Newcastle for four years and graduated from the Maine State Seminary, Lewiston, in 1860.
He was a lawyer and worked primarily in the ice business. In 1880, he was a Director of the Consumers' Ice Co. of N.Y.
