Description
Vander & Marguerite Forbes opened the Marguerite Inn in Wells in 1919. Following the success of the inn, they opened the Forbes Dining Room in 1921.
As of 2017, the Forbes Dining Room still operates seasonally. While the Marguerite was razed in 1965, it was rebuilt, and eventually became the Lafayette Oceanfront Resort.
This placemat from Forbes Dining Room highlights its fresh food, wonderful resort and its association with the Marguerite Inn.
