Description
In 1889, the Mousam River Rail Road was organized by the Goodall family to connect their mills in Sanford with the Portland and Rochester Railroad depot at Springvale.
In 1897, the Goodalls decided to run their track to Cape Porpoise, then Kennebunk and finally to Kennebunkport. This track was installed in Cape Porpoise before it opened in the spring of 1900.
