Description
Parker Pillsbury of New Hampshire, an activist for women's rights and abolition and a religious radical, wrote to Elizabeth Mountfort, corresponding secretary of the Portland Anti-Slavery Society, accepting the group's invitation to speak in 1850 and suggesting a title for his talk.
Pillsbury edited several antislavery newspapers and worked as an agent for the new Hampshire, Massachusetts and American antislavery societies.
