Description
This image, which Chansonetta Stanley Emmons included in her magic lantern slide presentation was originally photographed by Martha Maxim, an artist, musician, and talented photographer originally from Maine and living in Boston (much like Chansonetta). Chansonetta may have hand colored the moon and stars for the presentation. Martha was the cousin of Hiram Maxim, noted engineer and inventor of the Maxim Gun.
