Description
Photographer Chansonetta Stanley Emmons captured a blacksmith shoeing a large white draft horse at his shop in Scituate, with a young barefoot boy standing nearby watching. Born in Kingfield in 1858, Chansonetta Stanley Emmons traveled throughout New England documenting rural people and scenes.
