Description
This view of a home flower garden and houses on the Carrabassett River would have been familiar to photographer Chansonetta Stanley Emmons, who was born in 1858 and grew up in Kingfield.
This image is likely part of a slide program compiled to show audiences. Her daughter Dorothy is thought to have hand-tinted these lantern slides. They traveled together throughout New England and beyond to give slide programs and to photograph.
