Description
This fall scene, in which a horse-drawn buggy headed down a country road lined with birch trees, was created by Chansonetta Stanley Emmons. Chansonetta was born in Kingfield in 1858 and traveled throughout New England with her daughter, Dorothy, to document people and scenes of rural life. This photograph is likely part of a slide program compiled by Emmons to show audiences.
