Description
Chansonetta Stanley Emmons photographed this scene of Mr. Abram to showcase the town of Kingfield, where she was born in 1858. Emmons gained recognition as a photographer in the early 20th century and traveled across New England and beyond, documenting rural people and landscapes. She likely included this photograph in a slide program she compiled for audiences. Her daughter, Dorothy, is believed to have hand-tinted these lantern slides.
