Description
A parade was crossing the bridge that spanned the Mousam river, going south on Main Street in Kennebunk.
The Davis Shoe Company stands as the tallest building to the left. Shoe manufacturing played an important role in Kennebunk's manufacturing heritage. On May 3, 1903 there was a large fire in the Davis Shoe Company building which destroyed most of the buildings in this photograph, with others nearby suffering heavy damage.
