Description
Chansonetta Stanley Emmons toured rural New England during the early 20th century, often with her daughter Dorothy, taking photographs of local people and scenes. This image is one of several taken in and around Scituate, Massachusetts. Emmons entitled this work "Moss gatherer," but it may be a reference to seaweed. Emmons was a well known photographer from Kingfield, Maine.
