Description
Hooria Majeed fled Kabul, Afghanistan, twice—first to escape the Mujahaddin, and later, the Taliban. She experienced so much heartbreak and fear during the long years of warfare that when she had to leave her homeland forever and come to Maine, she didn’t bemoan starting life over, saying, “I’m worrying before, but happy now. A new life! No bombing, no rockets. A different life.”
As of 2017, Majeed owns a catering business in Portland.
