Description
The Portland Duffs, were a baseball team in the New England League. Hugh Duffy, who later became a member of the national baseball Hall of Fame managed the team.
May 18, 1913 was opening day for the Portland Duffs, who lost that day to the Lowell Grays 17 to 9.
An inscription on the card reads, “View showing grand stand and bleachers, Opening game, New England League, May 8, 1913, Bayside Park, - Portland, ME. Largest attendance ever at a Ball Game in the State.”
