Description
The Lincoln Academy Class of 1902 portrait includes class members Florence Baker, Elmer Bradley, Ethelind Hatch, Myrtie Knowlton, J. Holmes King, Emma J. Perkins (valedictorian), Amy M. Sproul, and Harold E. Young, as well as seven other unidentified individuals. George H. Larrabee was Principal. This portrait hung in the Humanities Wing of the school in Newcastle in 2017.
Lincoln Academy in Newcastle was chartered in 1801 by the General Court of Massachusetts 'for the purpose of promoting Piety, Religion, and Morality' and is the fourth oldest secondary school in Maine that is still in existence as of 2022.
