Helen M. Keirns (1905-1979) and her sister Mildred F. Keirns Beebe (1907-1996) of Munjoy Street, Portland were the daughters of Irish Americans James Wilfred Keirns (Kearns originally), a Portland plasterer, and Margaret Rowe, a native of Nova Scotia.
The Keirns girls graduated from Gorham Normal School and were teachers in Englewood, New Jersey. They died in Englewood, Florida.
