Description
This October 1895 John Dunn photo shows a remote hunting camp in the Moosehead Lake region of northern Maine.
A small area in the woods would be cleared and tents erected to create an outpost. Dunns tent is seen on the right; the guides tent is on the left; and the mess tent where meals were taken -- is in the center.
Note the stretched moose hide on a makeshift drying rack, with the bull mooses skull with attached antlers resting on a brush pile in the center of the photo.
