Description
The intersection of the Deering bypass and Veranda Street during construction. The new expressway ran alongside the East Deering neighborhood of Portland. After two and a half years of work, traffic began flowing via this section of the $1,300,000 expressway.
The "Portland Press Herald" featured this photograph in the November 11, 1954 edition, under the caption "After Two And A Half Years."
