Description
A Maine State Police trooper showed off his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for the camera. The bike was probably a 1936 VL 1200cc Police Pursuit model.
From 1921 until 1935, the State Police patrolled Maine roads only on motorcycles and, occasionally, horses. Cruisers were added to force in 1935 and motorcycles were phased out by 1954.
