Description
The Gannett newspapers of Portland put a major focus on Maine news. This “Maine-First” policy meant that many articles and photos focused on Maine products, problems, politics, and people.
For example, the Portland Evening Express often ran local interest pictures to highlight the season, such as these two children enjoying a hot dog on a warm, sunny day.
