Description
This unframed tintype copy of an oil painting shows a man in formal clothing writing with a quill pen. Maine State Historian Earle G. Shettleworth Jr., remarked the portrait is reminiscent of Readfield artist Jonathan Treadwell, who was active during the 1840s.
