Description
On November 11th, 1924, Maine officials traveled to Kittery to dedicate a memorial to the soldiers and sailors who fought in World War I. Governor Baxter and State Senator Frank Farrington were among the dignitaries who attended. In the November 12th, 1924 issue of the Portland Evening Express, this photo was captioned, "GATHERING OF MAINE FOLK ABOUT THE MEMORIAL DEDICATED YESTERDAY AT KITTERY TO MAINE'S SOLDERS AND SAILORS OF THE WORLD WAR."
