Description
In the 1930's, Peaks Island was one of the most famous summer resorts on the Maine coast. On October 22, 1935 the Evening Express ran this photograph with the title "Peaks Island In Casco Bay As Seen Through Camera Eye From Air." According to the caption, the plane was flying over Cushing Island when the photograph was taken. The caption also documented many of the geographic features and landmarks on the island. The photo is credited to the Portland Flying Service Photo Division.
