Description
Portland Evening Express and Portland Press Herald photographers focused much of their work on street portraits of everyday Mainers in sections like "As They Were" or "With Us Today," which sometimes included a small write up on the subject. The paper also constantly documented seasonal change, both of which kept in line with Guy Gannett's Maine first policy. This blizzard and sleet storm on March 6, 1920, gave staff photographers the opportunity to combine both of these practices.
