Description
A class of pupils and teachers pose on the steps of North School, Congress Street, Portland.
The school on Munjoy Hill served a variety of immigrant groups. By 1920, with more than 1,000 pupils, the school was too small.
Some older pupils were moved to other schools and an addition was built at North School.
