Description
On January 6, 1920, the Training School for Nurses of the Queen's Hospital (later Mercy) opened its doors. Mercy created the program to keep up with the demand for qualified nurses in the state. Students lived on the hospital grounds and were often involved with student committees and groups.
Mercy Hospital School of Nursing provided nursing education from 1920-1987; they trained over 2000 nurses to help serve the greater Portland community.
