Description
Laconia Manufacturing Company's office was located in a two-story red brick structure with a raised basement and a low-pitched roof. The Laconia Manufacturing Company built the offices in1890, part of an adjoining row of buildings relating to the their textile business that lined lower Main Street in Biddeford.
The second floor of the Laconia office included finish lath plaster walls with a brick fireplace in the center of the floor, and a large steel safe that contained the Laconia business ledgers, operating cash, and payroll. By 1900 they had been bought by the Pepperell Manufacturing Company and became the Laconia Division of the Pepperell Mills.
The office building has been empty since West-Point homes Inc. closed in 2009.
