Description

A fire at the Great Northern Paper Company engineer's house in Millincoket. Fires were a common disaster in the early years of Millinocket due to flammable materials being used in construction.

The growing concern of fires among Millinocket's residents led to the establishment of the Millinocket Fire Department in May of 1901.
