Description
This postcard shows the Strathglass Commandery, No. 21 (Rumford Royal Arch Chapter, Knights Templar), parading through Rumford Falls and across Memorial Bridge on June 24, 1908.
The Grand Commandery of Knights Templar for Maine was organized on May 5, 1852. In 1908, the officers of the Strathglass Commandery were Oliver A. Pettengill, Commander; Gerald A. Peabody, Generalissimo; and Ralph M. Woodsum, Captain General, as noted at the fifty-seventh annual conclave held at Masonic Hall in Portland on May 7, 1908. At that time, the Strathglass Commandery had 146 members.
