Description

Built in 1809, the ferry between Rumford Point and Rumford Corner was the last to operate on the Androscoggin River. It ceased operation when the Martin Bridge was completed in 1955.

In this photo postcard, a woman stood next to a car while the ferry crossed the Androscoggin. The postcard printed by the American Art Postcard Co. of Brookline, Mass. and Lion Craft, Inc. of Portland.
