Description
A young George Allen Soule (1838-1865) of Yarmouth stood for this portrait in a coat and tie covered by a smock, which the photographer tinted blue.
Soule later served in the Union army during the Civil War. He died in March of 1865, and was buried in Arlington Cemetery.
