Description
Converse Purington served in the Maine Legislature in 1880 representing Bowdoinham.
A Republican, he was born in Litchfield and went to sea as a young man, beginning as a foremast hand, and leaving off as a master mariner.
In 1852 went into trade in Bowdoinham.
