Description
Maine Medical Center overlooks the Fore River from atop Bramhall Hill. In 1870, the Maine state legislature passed a resolution deeding the lot to the then-newly incorporated hospital. The City of Portland immediately supplemented the land grant with an adjoining tract that lay between the original site and Congress Street; together, the two parcels comprised over seven acres of land.
This image was used in Maine Medical Center annual report and other publications.
