Description
The original Maine General Hospital entrance was protected from snow by the portico added in 1903, at the same time as the hospital's new surgical pavilion was constructed behind the East Pavilion. The entrance moved when MGH became MMC in the early 1950s. By 1968, the Richards Wing was under construction, again altering the floorplan of the growing complex.
