Thomas Dwight was the eighth president of Yale College in New Haven, Connecticut, and his travels through Northern New England were documented on this map. Descriptions of these travels can be found in the book, "Travels in New England and New York" by Timothy Dwight.
A unique feature of the map includes the prime meridian being set at Yale College’s location of New Haven, CT.
