Contributed by Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education

Description

This map of the city of Portland shows advertisements for businesses along the border. Types of businesses listed include car dealerships, banks, hardware and appliance stores, hotels, restaurants, and insurance companies. Of particular interest is the funeral home Hay & Peabody advertising their "Private Ambulance Service."

Map shows Portland only a few years before I-295's expansion drastically changed many of Portland's neighborhoods.
