Description
A gray wool flannel sleeveless gown, attributed to American designer Geoffrey Beene, includes an empire waist and seven rows of rhinestones that continue onto the bust. While the dress lacks a proper label, a secondary label on the left interior reads "B Green Room," a specialty shop at Bloomingdale's luxury department store. Beene designs were sold at Bloomingdale's "Green Room."
The fabric choice was a popular one for Beene, who launched a fragrance line in 1975 called "Grey Flannel." This dress is associated with Cecile Parker Carver (1925-2009) of Scarborough.
