Description
A silk chiffon, light pink, short sleeved dress with attached underslip was likely worn by bride Hattie B. Morrison's when she married Maurice B. Jewett at Belmont, NH on 8 September 1926. Hattie B. Morrison was the only daughter of John and Lizelle (Janes) Morrison.
Evoking quintessential 1920s style, the dress includes a low waist, thick decorative waistband, and a straight silhouette. The center front of the dress has white, brown, and gray beads organized in a stylized floral motif. The skirt of the dress is pleated, which start at the waistband. The bottom of the dress terminates with a scalloped edge, trimmed with brown beads and a white and gray flower design above each scallop.
Despite an attached underslip, the dress is still quite sheer.
