Description
During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, in an effort to bring some comfort during an otherwise unsettled time, many businesses posted signs encouraging good health and community spirit. This was the first of several such messages shared on the grand marquee of the State Theater on Congress Street.
This photo was taken on the March 16, 2020, the same day that the city of Portland declared a civil State of Emergency, and four days after the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the state of Maine.
