Description
A "birds-eye view of the cities of Biddeford and Saco, York County, Maine as seen from the North East," published by J. J. Stoner, highlights the two cities and their attractions. Several railroads are featured, the Portland, Saco & Portsmouth, Eastern Rail Road, and the Boston & Maine. The Saco River is the central reference point, dividing the two cities.
Attractions include local schools, municipal buildings, churches, a trotting park, and businesses. Mentioned businesses include manufacturing, mills, a carriage factory, boot and shoe factory, gristmill, a paper collar factory, brick yards, banks, and machine shops. The Saco House and the Biddeford House, two local hotel establishments, are also highlighted.
The map's lithographers were Krebs Lithographing Company of Cincinnati, OH.
