Description
Women organized a Women's March in 2017 that took place the day after President Donald Trump's inauguration, likely the largest single-day demonstration in recorded U.S. history. An estimated 653 marches involving over four million people took place in the U.S. alone, others marched across the globe. Maine's largest marches were in Portland and Augusta.
In protest over Trump's remarks about women, many women created and wore "pussy hats," knitted or crocheted pink hats with cat-like ears.
