Description
The Farmington State Normal School’s baseball team posed outside of the Academy Building (later known as Merrill Hall) in August 1896. At that time the Normal School students played other local teams in the area, including high school teams, and did not yet have school uniforms.
The team members from left to right: Rowland Howard, Emery Purington, W. Stanwood Field, Herbert Skinner, Walter Norton, Charles Turner, Moses Corliss, Frank Day, Albert Fowler, George C. Purington Jr., and Stephen Pinkham.
